Cyberpunk Femme Fatale

Softwares used for modeling were 3d studio max 9 and Sculptris (a great free 3d sculpting software). The renderer used was mental ray. Render took a roughly 3 hours to complete at 2400×1600. Post-processing was done in Photoshop CS3, slight color touches were made using IrfanView.

This render was basically made from these drawings I found. The one with the “ZERO” glasses (i think they are created by Arosenlund, i am not quite sure) I found on cyberpunk.asia, a website containing various cyberpunk imagery. The one with the girl was taken from the album cover of an industrial rock band called KMFDM.

Here is a tribute i make to the game Quake 3. 2D concept make by Zatoichi from polycount. I asked the author of the sketch if I could use it, but he didn’t answer to me to this day. The image was made in 3dsmax, rendered with VRay. Textures taken from art.eonworks.com and www.cgtextures.com. Below are the conept image and the render.

Romanian Electric Locomotive

In this scene I tried to create a Romanian LE 5100 KW locomotive entering a random Romanian city.

Softwares used: 3dsmax7, GIMP, IrfanView, arbaro(tree generation).
Rendering Engine: Mental Ray.
Plugins used: texporter, quickdirt
Scripts used: quadrangulator.
Shaders used: p_shaders(p_z)

The scene is composed of 8 different layers:
1-Train and tracks.
2-Grass in front, sign, powerbox.
3-Grass in back and infrastructure.
4-Back Graffiti fence.
5-Blocks.
6-Electric poles.
7-Trees.
8-Z-depth.
The total render time for all 8 layers is roughly 4 hours. The first 7 layers are composed in max. The 8th layer is composed using GIMP.

Inspired by Nine Inch Nails’ song, “Metal”. Done in max 7, rendered with mental ray, postprocessed in GIMP. Textures as alwaya from cgtextures.com. It’s got around 1.2 million polys. Rendered in less than half an hour @ 3000×1000 resolution. For this post, I cropped it a little.

Entrance to Pripyat

In this render I wanted to capture the abandoned city of Pripyat. For this picture I used 3dsmax7, GIMP, ivygenerator and arbaro. the scene took about an hour and 15 minutes to render. There are aproximately 3 million polygons in this scene.
